Dos años de conversación con Patricia Conde Galería para poner esta muestra. No puedo explicar la emoción y dicha que me da ser parte de ésta exposición.
Estoy muy feliz de compartir cuatro proyectos de 2016-2021. Interiores, trabajo realizado en el Seminario de Producción Fotográfica del Centro de la Imagen, es una aproximación nostálgica a la relación de mis padres, después la Casa de los Sueños un trabajo que aborda la casa chica de mi abuelo paterno y las mentiras que vivieron escondidas en los muros 35 años, después Foreplay un serie de polaroids y Fanzine que habla sobre el placer femenino y el sexteo, finalmente PlayDate un guión/Fanzine sobre las relaciones románticas feministas y la presión que existe sobre la mujer para verse de y comportarse de cierta manera. Los dos últimos parte de mi maestría en University of the Arts London. Algunas fotos han sido seleccionadas por Artsy como Emerging Photographers to Watch.
Rehabitar el Silencio, esta curada por Paola Dávila presentada en Patricia Conde Galería, una exposición con obras de Tania Bohórquez, Sylvana Burns, y yo. Es la primera vez que todas nosotras exhibimos en la galería y la primera curaduría de Paola Dávila.
Presentamos obra producida en otros países, que entablan un diálogo con nuestro lugar de origen. El trauma, el amor, el incesto, el poder y control sobre el cuerpo: la violencia social ejercida principalmente sobre las mujeres son conceptos que atraviesan la producción, partimos del propio cuerpo o de otras para rehabitarlos.
Nuestro trabajo, aborda temas recurrentes para el feminismo en relación con el dinero, el amor, el cuerpo y la sexualidad. Desde ahí producimos imágenes que parten de experiencias vivenciales, que se presentan desde la vulnerabilidad, pero que desemboca en la fuerza, no en la debilidad.
Nos enfrentamos al mismo ejercicio de poder añejo, con estructuras compositivas diferentes. Partimos del cuerpo, el sexo y el deseo como fuerzas fundamentales para hablar de eso que no se suele nombrar, para reconfigurar la realidad, para permearla, y para incidir en ella.
La muestra se inauguró el jueves 02 de junio 2022 y se podrá visitar en hasta el sábado 20 de agosto, 2022.

Two years of conversation with Patricia Conde to put on this exhibition. I cannot explain the emotion and joy that being part of this show brings me.
I am very happy to share four projects from 2016-2021. Interiores, a work carried out at the Seminario de Producción Fotográfica del Centro de la Imagen, a nostalgic approach for my parents' relationship, then Dream House, a work that deals with the second family of my paternal grandfather and the lies that lived hidden in the walls for 35 years, then Foreplay a series of polaroids and zine that talks about female pleasure and sexting, finally PlayDate a script/zine about feminist romantic relationship and the pressure that exists on women to look and behave on a certain way. The last two part of my master's degree at the University of the Arts London. Some photos have been selected by Arty as Emerging Photographers to Watch.
Rehabitar el Silencio, is curated by Paola Dávila and presented at Patricia Conde Galería, an exhibition with works by Tania Bohórquez, Sylvana Burns, and myself. It is the first time we exhibit in the gallery and the first curatorship of Paola Dávila.
We present work produced in other countries, but which establishes a dialogue with Mexico. Trauma, love, incest, power and control over the body: social violence exercised mainly on women are concepts that go through the productions, we start from our own bodies or from others to re-inhabit them.
In our work, we address recurring themes for feminism in relation to money, love, the body and sexuality. From there we produce images that start from experiential experiences, which are presented from vulnerability, but one that leads to strength, not weakness.
We have faced the same old exercise of power, with different compositional structures. We start from the body, sex and desire as fundamental forces to talk about what is not usually named, to reconfigure reality, to permeate it, and to influence it.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Thursday, June 2, 2022 and can be visited until Saturday, August 20, 2022.
